Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim ‘Kahraba’ scored once as Al Ittihad overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat Al Faisaly 2-4 on Saturday evening in Saudi Pro League action.

After Al Hilal swept aside Al Wehda in a 6-0 win on Thursday, Al Ittihad needed a positive result against lowly Al Faisaly to maintain their title push.

Luisinho put Al Faisaly in front with just 11 minutes gone, as the relegation-threatened club capitalized on poor defending from the opposition.

Nevertheless, Fahad Al-Muwallad got on the end of a lofted pass in the 26th minute before finishing well to pull his side level.

Mahmoud Kahraba then made it 2-1 in the 39th minute after an excellent pass from teammate Ahmed Akaichi.

The Tunisian got on the scoresheet himself midway through the second half, as Al Ittihad started to build an unassailable lead.

Six minutes later, Gonzalo Cabrera’s long range effort took a huge deflection before nestling in the back of the net to cut the visitors’ advantage in half.

A comeback was not on the cards for Al Faisaly, however, as Fahed Al-Ansari curled a spectacular free-kick into the top corner with five minutes to play, to seal an important win for Al Ittihad, who remain in second place in the league table behind Al Hilal.
