Sobhi nominated for GloCAF Most Promising Talent

CAF have announced the list for the 2016 Most Promising Talent award which included Al Ahly’s talent and Stoke City winger Ramadan Sobhi.

Sobhi who moved in the summer to Stoke City from Al Ahly in the most expensive transfer move for an African player under the age of 20, is nominated for the first time for the award that will be announced on the 5th of January 2017.

The list includes four other players: Congolese Elia Meschak from TP Mazembe, Guinean Naby Keïta from RB Leipzing and Nigerian Etebo Oghenekaro from CD Feirense.

Sobhi led the national team in the FIFA World Cup qualifications and the African Cup of Nations qualifications this year. The young winger scored in Egypt’s win over Nigeria in the 2017 AFCON qualifier.
