Spalletti speaks about Mohamed Salah’s absence
Roma manager Luciano Spalletti spoke about Mohamed Salah ahead of Roma’s clash with AC Milan in the 16th round of the Italian Serie A.
The Egyptian winger suffered an an ankle injury after a tough challenge from Roma’s Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen that will make him miss Roma’s upcoming games against AC Milan, Juventus, and Chievo Verona.
Spalletti was asked if Salah will be back before the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in January, and he replied that he would have relayed on him against Milan if he was fit enough.
“I’d say that even if he could play just 20 minutes, I’d bring him along. I’ve not resigned myself to anything. All the assets I have in my hands, and whether that changes between now and the game, will be available to Roma,” Spalletti said.
The Giallorossi currently sit second in the league with 35 points, seven points behind leaders Juventus and their next league game will be against third-placed AC Milan on December 12.
