Adam El-Abd sent off in Shrewsbury Town FA Cup loss
Egypt international Adam El-Abd was sent off in Shrewsbury Town 3-2 loss against Fleetwood Town in the second round of the English FA Cup.
The Egyptian started his 24th game of the season and was sent off in the 50th minute for pulling back Flettwood’s Amadi-Holloway in the game which his side were knocked out of the FA Cup.
Shrewsbury Town opened the scoreline through Jim O’Brien in 43rd minute, before Louis Dodds doubled their lead in the 60th minute.
Despite being 2-0 down, the hosts pulled back a two-goal deficit to win the game and progress to the third round. Former Manchester City forward Devante Cole scored Fleetwood’s first goal in the 63rd minute, before scoring the equaliser in the 77th minute.
In the dying moments of the game, Ashley Hunter scored the winning goal for Flettwood to guide his club to the third round of the FA Cup, where they face Championship side Bristol City.
