secured a semi-final clash with at the 2016 Africa Cup of Nations in Lagos, Nigeria after beating Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday afternoon.

Egypt drew first blood in the first period with a great free-kick effort, before the Central Africans responded quickly from a corner to restore parity.

It was a tight affair as both teams were compact and difficult to break down, and the scores were even at half-time.

After some fine work, Egypt restored their lead in the second period with a brilliant strike, but their opponents equalized once again in the third period, to set up a thrilling finish.

The Pharaohs restored their lead once again, but would hold on this time; they scored again to make it 4-2 and seal the win, as Côte d’Ivoire could not respond. Egypt now join Senegal, Nigeria and Morocco in the semi-finals of the tournament, and are one match away from securing a spot at the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas.
