EXCLUSIVE | Ettifaq vice-president reveals details of Hefny offer

Ayman Hefny Zamalek vs Orlando
Ettifaq vice-president Hatem Al Mos’hel has confirmed to KingFut the presence of interest in loaning Zamalek star Ayman Hefny.

Hefny has been subject of interest to the Saudi Pro League outfits Ettifaq, who have already taken White Knights defender Mohamed Koffi on loan last summer.

The Dammam-based outfits are managed by former Al Ahly boss Juan Carlos Garrido, with Al Mos’hel confirming that it was the Spaniard that asked the club to put forward an offer for Hefny, 30.

“Yes, there is interest. Juan Carlos Garrido asked us to sign the player and we are awaiting Zamalek’s reply,” Al Mos’hel told KingFut.

The vice-president then confirmed that they would not be waiting forever, giving Mortada Mansour’s side an ultimatum.

“We have set the 19th of December as an ultimatum for their reply because we have other options to look at as well. At the moment we are reviewing the player’s injury record,” Al Mos’hel concluded.

Ayman Hefny joined Zamalek from Tala’a El-Gaish in the summer of 2014, playing an instrumental role in helping the club win the Egyptian Premier League once and the Egyptian Cup twice as well as reaching the CAF Champions League Final last season. The playmaker’s deal runs with Zamalek until the summer of 2019.

The two-time Saudi Pro League Champions currently lie 6th in the league table after 13 rounds, with 21 points, just five away from the top three places.

It is worth nothing that the number of foreign players in each Saudi team is limited to 4 per team, and should not be a goalkeeper. Currently, Ettifaq have Mohamed Koffi, Boubacar Foufana of Guinea, Aminou Bouba of Cameroon and Brazilian striker Leonardo Passos Alves.
