Elneny features in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City
Arsenal’s starting XI: Cech; Bellerin, Koscielny, Gabriel, Monreal; Xhaka, Couqlein, Ozil; Walcott, Iwobi, Sanchez.
Manchester City’s starting XI: Bravo; Zabaleta, Otamendi, Kolarov, Clichy; Toure, Fernando, Silva, Sane, De Bruyne; Sterling.
Mohamed Elneny came on in the 78th minute in attempt to control Arsenal’s midfield, but unfortunately he saw his side losing to Manchester City 2-1.
Arsenal started the game a little bit cautious, as Manchester City’s attacking philosophy forced the Gunners to defend well and sit back relying on counter attacks in order to save them from any embarrassment.
In the fifth minute, Theo Walcott scored the opening goal after an excellent speedy counter attack, which saw Sanchez assisting him, making it 1-0 for the Gunners.
The Citizens scored right away in the second half in the 47th minute, as Sane converted Silva’s chip ball before Sterling converted De Bruyne’s assist, ending the game 2-1 to Manchester City.
Arsenal next match will be against West Brom on December 26 in the English Premier League, while Man City will face Elmohamady’s Hull City on the same day at the KC Stadium.
