Warda features in Panetolikos 3-1 defeat to Olympiakos
Egypt international Amr Warda featured in Panetolikos’s 3-1 loss to giants Olympiakos in the 12th round of the Greek Super League.
The Egyptian started the game before being replaced by Luís Rocha in the 73rd minute, as his side lost to league leaders Olympiakos away from home.
Warda’s side surprisingly scored the first goal of the game in the 52nd minute through Georgios Kousas, but the hosts responded as Sebá equalised just ten minute later.
In the 83rd minute, former Benfica forward Óscar Cardozo scored his side’s second goal of the game before Diogo Figueiras scored his first league goal of the season two minute later, ending the game 3-1 to Olympiakos.
This result means that Olympiakos will maintain top spot in Super league with 31 points, while Panaitolikos sit 9th with 15 points, and their next match will be against 5th placed AEK Athens on Wednesday January 4.
It’s worth mentioning that Warda was called up by Egypt manager Héctor Cúper to join the national team’s training camp ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
