Keagan Dolly not interested in Al Ahly offer
Mamelodi Sundowns ace Keagan Dolly is not interested in Cairo giants Al Ahly’s proposal to join the team in January.
Al Ahly have today contacted Sundowns and the player’s representative over a move to the Red Devils next month.
KingFut can confirm Dolly, who is shortlisted for African player of the year award (Based in Africa), is not interested in Al Ahly’s proposal as he has only set his sights on a move to Europe.
The 23-year-old winger has attracted plaudits most notably playing a key role in Masandawana’s CAF Champions League campaign, guiding the team to the Club World Cup.
The South Africa international is close to moving to Europe, with a transfer to Greek champions Olympiacos on the cards after the club activated his €750,000 European release clause.
Despite activating the clause in his contract, the Brazilians have taken the player to court, with both sides writting to the PSL regarding the matter and waiting for the verdict Dispute Resolutions Chamber.
According to KingFut sources close to the player, Sundowns are looking to revert to the player’s old contract so they can avoid selling Dolly for the sum mentioned.
Al Ahly were widely known to be interested in Dolly’s Zimbabwean teammate Khama Billiat but were scared off by his enormous price tag.
Downs slapped a €2.5 million price tag on Billiat’s head, and with the current economic depreciation, Al Ahly would have to fork out a fee close to 50 million Egyptian Pounds.
