El-Beltagy: Mortada Mansour is threatening me
Reda El-Beltagy, the recently resigned head of the refereeing committee in the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), spoke about threats sent to him by Mortada Mansour following the recent referees controversial.
El-Beltagy resigned two months after he began his job as head of the refereeing committee following Zamalek’s Chairman Mortada Mansour criticism, as the latter demanded the EFA to sack the head of the refereeing committee in an official letter sent to them.
“I’ve received intimidating messages on my phone from Mortada Mansour in the past period,” he explained to Sada El Balad TV channel. “I took the decision a while ago, but the final decision was made two days ago. After every Zamalek match Mansour calls me more than 10 times and I don’t answer him.”
“Some of these messages accused referees of being corrupt, I did not inform the EFA about these messages yet,” he added. “I will submit a complaint in the parliament on Tuesday regarding the threats I received.
The ex-referee concluded by confirming the EFA and Hany Abou-Rida’s support to his decisions.
