Gennesh renews contract with Zamalek
Zamalek’s goalkeeper Mahmoud Abdel-Rahim ‘Gennesh’, put pen-to-paper on his new contract with the club.
In a meeting that was attended by board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour and vice president Ahmed Galal Ibrahim, ‘Gennesh’ renewed his contract with the White Knights for four more years which will begin with the start of the new season.
Gennesh is one of many players whose contracts end by the end of this season. Ibrahim Salah, Zamalek’s midfielder, also renewed his contract recently for four years along with Bassem Morsy who extended his contract for three seasons, while Moruf Yusuf did not agree to the club’s five-year contract and wanted a two-year contract only. Thus, the player will be leaving the team this summer.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper had an important role with the team recently as he participated in the first leg of the final African Champions League match against Mamelodi Sundowns as first-choice goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy picked up an injury, and started in the second leg match.
