Egypt maintains FIFA ranking position for December
The Pharaohs were ranked as the fourth best African team behind Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia.
December in general was a quiet month for international teams, as the top 10 teams remained in their same ranking positions. Argentina will end the year on top of the FIFA ranking with 1634 points followed by Brazil in second place with 1544 points and Germany in third place with 1433 points.
UEFA EURO 2016 finalists France earned ‘Mover of the Year’ title gaining the most ranking points since December 2015, winning 13 of their 17 matches in 2016. The team is currently in seventh place in the world ranking and third in UEFA behind Belgium and Germany.
In Asia, Iran are on top of the ranking followed by South Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia respectively.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on Thursday 12 January 2017.
