Current Egyptian Premier League leaders Al Ahly began their quest in Egypt Cup with a 6-0 win over second division side Aluminium.

It took Al Ahly only 13 minute to open the scoring after Amr Gamal broke his goal-scoring drought to grab his side’s first goal.

Only 10 minutes later, Mo’men Zakaria doubled his side’s lead. Even though Al Ahly had several scoring opportunities throughout the rest of the half, the score remained at 2-0 at the break.

Six minutes into the second half, Gamal completed his brace with a header off of a Zakaria cross to make it 3-0 for the Red Devils.

Substitute Emad Meteb, who came on to replace Akram Tawfik in the 55th minute, needed only 10 minutes on the field to score Al Ahly’s fourth goal.

Meteb completed his hat-trick with a quick-fire double in the 85th and 86th minutes to secure a 6-0 victory for Al Ahly in Egypt Cup round of 32.

The Red Castle advanced to Egypt Cup round of 16, in which they will face the winner from the match between Dakhleya and Gouna.

Al Ahly’s next game will be the Derby against Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League on Dec.29.
