Al Ahly forward John Antwi is set to join Fayoum-based club Misr El-Maqassa.

Following the confirmation of Nana Poku’s departure to UAE club Al-Shabab, Ihab Galal’s side have lined up Ghanaian striker Antwi to replace his countryman on loan.

The 24-year-old suffered a turbulent time with the Red Devils facing long periods on the sidelines, injuries and massive fines.

Antwi failed to rediscover his Ismaily form whether with the Red Devils or during his brief spell with Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia.

The striker featured in just four matches for Al Ahly this season scoring one goal. He helped his side win the Egyptian Premier League title last season, participating in 22 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals.
