Aswan withdraw decision to forfeit Egypt Cup
Aswan SC Chairman Hassan AbdelKader has announced the withdrawal of their decision to forfeit the 2016/2017 Egypt Cup.
The Blues forfeited the domestic cup following the draw that saw them face newly-promoted side Tanta at the latter’s ground, which made them quit the cup as they couldn’t afford to travel to Tanta.
However, Aswan’s board decided to withdraw their forfeit decision after the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) promised them to pay the team’s travelling costs to Tanta.
If Aswan can overcome Tanta they will face Wadi Degla, who beat second division side Pharco 3-0 on Friday, and in case they qualified to the quarter-finals they will face the winner from Al Ahly and Dakhelya.
