Misr El-Maqassa confirm bid for John Antwi
Walid Hewedi has confirmed Misr El-Maqassa have made a loan offer for Al Ahly forward John Antwi, with view to permanent move.
As Kingfut exclusively reported, Misr El-Maqassa football director Walid Hewedi has confirmed that his side have made an offer to take the Ghanaian striker on loan with view to a permanent transfer to replace Nana Poku, who departed to UAE side Al-Shabab.
“We approved Nana Poku’s departure due to Al Ahly’s desire to loan Antwi out, as Ehab Galal is confident that he could be an adequate replacement for Poku,’’ Hewedi told Al Ahly TV.
“There is a clause in Poku’s contract that allows the Emirati side to buy the striker permanently after the loan spell ends, which could make Antwi move to El-Maqassa on a permanent deal next Summer,’’ he concluded.
The 24-year-old featured in just four matches for Al Ahly this season scoring one goal. He helped his side win the Egyptian Premier League title last season, participating in 22 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals.
