Rami Rabia to miss AFCON due to injury
Egypt international defender Rami Rabia will miss the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations next Summer in Gabon due to an ankle injury.
The 23-year-old was injured during Al Ahly’s training session yesterday, December 25 after an intervention with goalkeeper Ahmed Adel. He is suffering from a grain in the ankle lateral ligament and the primary scan confirms that he will miss the 2017 AFCON next January.
The former Sporting Lisbon player has been dogged by injury problems as he recently went through two surgeries after suffering from a knee injury last October.
He has made just two appearances this season since recovering from that setback, as he featured as a substitute against Al Masry in the league and as a starter against Aluminum in Egypt Cup.
