Mortada Mansour announces four managerial candidates for Zamalek job
Zamalek president Mortada Mansour revealed that negotiations are ongoing with four foreign managers to lead the team over the coming period as Mohamed Helmy’s departure becomes imminent.

This confirms that Zamalek is currently negotiating with Amunike, FC Astra Giurgi coach Marius Șumudică, former Wadi Degla manager Patrice Carteron and former Wydad and Raja Casablanca coach José Romão.
“As for Șumudică, he has been following us for a long time and knows what happened before with previous Zamalek managers,” Mansour add. “He might even know when did my son Ahmed went to the hospital.
Regarding the Romanian coach’s penalty clause, Mansour assured that Zamalek has nothing to do with it. “He is going to pay for to be able to sign a contract with us.”
The club’s president said that a session with Mohamed Helmy, who recently returned to Zamalek, will be held on Tuesday to know whether Helmy will continue leading the team or not. “If he chooses to continue he will need to decide on his technical staff tomorrow,” he concluded.
