Ghana’s Fatau Dauda replaces injured Adam Kwarasey in AFCON squad
Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey will no be able to take part in his team’s 2017 AFCON squad due to injury and Enyimba FC Fatau Dauda was called to replace him.
Avram Grant, Ghana’s manager, recently announced his 26-man provisional squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, which included three goalkeepers: Razak Braimah (Cordoba, Spain), Adam Kwarasey (Rosenborg, Norway) Richard Ofori (Wa All Stars).
Kwarasey who plays for Norwegian side Rosenborg, picked up an injury with his team and Dauda was put on standby until Kwarasey’s condition was confirmed. Luckily for the 31-year-old, Kwarasey will need three weeks to recover from his injury which means he will not be able to take part in the upcoming AFCON.
This will be the fourth AFCON that the former AshGold goalkeeper participates in after playing with Ghana in 2008,2013,2015.
