Egypt handball national team manager Marwan Ragab has announced the squad that will participate in the Handball World Championship in France, later this month.

The Pharaohs secured their qualification to the World after winning the African Championship last year in Cairo. The tournament will take part from 11th to 29th of January in France.

Squad list:

Karim Hendawy, Hadr Refa’at, Ahmed Khairy, Karim Ayman, Abdel-Rahman ‘Abdo’, Yehia El-Deraa’, Islam Hassan, Mohamed Hesham Bassiouny, Ahmed El-Ahmar, Mamdouh Taha, Abo El-Fotouh Ahmed, Mohamed Ibrahim, Ibrahim El-Masry, Yehia Khaled, Mohamed Mamdouh and Mohamed Sanad.

The squad witnessed the exclusion of Le PAUC’s Ali Zein due to a foot-injury. The former Al Ahly player is expected to be added to the squad if the Pharaohs manage to reach the next round.

It worth mentioning that Egypt have been drawn in a group with the likes of Qatar, Denmark, Sweden, Argentina and Bahrain.

The Egyptian team will kick off their campaign against Qatar, on the 13th of January.
