Elneny, Elmohamady join Egypt camp

Egypt’s English Premier League duo, Mohamed Elneny and Ahmed Elmohamady finally joined the national team camp in preparation for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off in under 10 days.

The two were the only players yet to arrive for Cúper’s  training camp. Egypt are preparing to play Tunisia in their only friendly match ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. The match will be played on the 8th of January, in Egypt.

Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny and Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady are expected to start for the Pharaoh’s, in Gabon, if not to be key members of Hector Cúper’s squad. They are two of the three players in Egypt’s squad who play in the English Premier League. The other, Ramadan Sobhi linked up with the team on Tuesday.

This will be Elneny’s first Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Ahmed Elmohamady has won it before as he was part of the 2010 squad.

I have dedicated part of my time in this bad world to following African football. From CECAFA to WAFU, COSAFA to UNAF & even the forgotten UNIFFAC.
