Cameroon coach Hugo Broos announced the team’s final squad list to play in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon set to kick off on Jan. 14.

The Belgian manager diffused a country versus club row after opting not to include players who turned down the opportunity to join the Indomitable Lions in the 2017 AFCON. These players are Maxime Poundje (Girondins Bordeaux), André-Frank Anguissa (Olympique de Marseille), Ibrahim Amadou (LOSC Lille), Andre Onana (Ajax Amsterdam), Guy N’dy Assembe (AS Nancy), Joel Matip (Liverpool), Allan Nyom (West Bromwich) and recently Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Schalke).

A potential club ban has been avoided after the eight players were left out of Cameroon’s final squad.
