Heckingbottom confirms Barnsley have agreed fee to sign Morsy
Barnsley head coach Paul Heckingbottom has revealed that his club have agreed fee to sign Sam Morsy on a permanent basis.
The 39-year-old manager reassures Kingfut’s exclusive on the agreed fee with Wigan Athletic over Sam Morsy’s transfer to Oakwell.
The Egyptian midfielder, who had an impressive loan-spell with Barnsley, is now set to join the reds on a permanent basis after they activated his buy-out clause.
“We knew they would call him back, so straightaway slapped in the agreed fee which was all agreed in advance,” Heckingbottom said.
“It’s just a case of trying to get personal terms agreed and the deal done,” he added.
The Egyptian international spent the first-half of the season at Barnsley and has made 14 appearances for the Reds, providing three assists, before being recalled by Wigan Athletic last week.
It’s worth mentioning that Barnsley are currently eighth in the Championship, and within touching distance of the play-off places, while Wigan are 23rd with only one win from their last ten league matches.
