Egypt’s group opponents Uganda claimed a 3-1 victory over Slovakia in a friendly on Sunday in preparation for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Moses Oloya gave Uganda an early lead as he opened the scoring within the first five minutes. Farouk Miya doubled his side’s lead at the quarter-hour mark as the Cranes headed into the break with a 2-0 advantage.

Twelve minutes into the second half, Denis Vavro pulled one back for Slovakia. Geoffrey Massa prevented Slovakia from completing the comeback as he added his side’s third goal in the 78th minute.

Uganda had claimed a 1-0 win over Slovenia on Friday, two days after losing 2-0 to Tunisia. The Cranes will finalise their preparations for the AFCON with a friendly against reigning champions Ivory Coast on Wednesday.

Uganda were drawn in Group D alongside Egypt, Ghana and Mali. They will play their first match on the 17th against Ghana before going head to head with Egypt on Jan. 21.
