FA Cup: Arsenal awaits opponent, Hull City, Wigan draw tough teams

Ahmed Elmohamady’s Hull City, Mohamed Elneny‘s Arsenal, and Sam Morsy’s Wigan Athletic have guaranteed spots in the fourth round of the FA Cup, with all fixtures being played the weekend of,l January 28-29.

Hull City progressed to the fourth round after an impressive 2-0 win over Swansea City under new manager Marco Silva and in the absence of Ahmed Elmohamady, who traveled to Egypt to prepare for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. Hull City was drawn to face Championship side Fulham away from home.

Arsenal scraped their way into the fourth round thanks to a last minute winner from Olivier Giroud in their away win over Preston North End. Elneny was also missing from the squad as he joined the Egyptian national team in their preparations for the 2017 AFCON. Arsenal will face the winner from Southampton and Norwich City’s replay, away from home.

Sam Morsy played a full 90 minutes in Wigan Athletic’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, before Wigan was draw to face Manchester United away from home. Morsy, who was recalled from his loan at Barnsley, might be moving there again as Barnsley triggered his buyout clause.
