Ghanaian striker John Antwi has joined Fayoum-based side Misr El-Maqassa on a six-month loan deal, with an option to buy, from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

As KingFut exclusively revealed, the forward was selected to fill the void left by his compatriot Nana Poku, who was loaned to UAE side Al Shabab.

The 24-year-old suffered a turbulent time at the Red Castle, spending most of his time on the sidelines and suffering several injuries. He was recently fined by the Red Castle for travelling to Ghana without the club’s permission.

Antwi played only four matches for Al Ahly this term, netting one goal. He was part of the Al Ahly fold that won the 2015-16 Egyptian Premier League title and participated in 22 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals.
