Celtic sign Ivory Coast starlet Kouassi Eboue

Celtic have announced the signing of Kouassi Eboue from FC Krasnodar of Russia on a four-year deal, subject to the granting of a visa.

Eboue, 19, made 18 appearances with the Russian side this season. The midfielder used to play for Armenia’s FC Shirak before moving to Krasnodar in 2014.

“We have received the necessary governing body endorsement from the Scottish FA and subject to the visa being granted,” a statement published on the club’s official website read.

Eboue revealed that his compatriot Kolo Toure, who joined the Scottish side in July, played a part in his decision to join the Scottish champions.

“When I was young I watched TV and supported him [Toure] and now when I think I’ll play alongside him I’m really happy,” Eboue told the club’s official website.

“I had many options but I chose to come to Celtic because they have a good ambition and project here. I want to move forward and progress and I think Celtic is a good club for me to do that,” he added.
