Zamalek and Ismaily handed transfer bans
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has decided to block six Egyptian Premier League sides from registering new players due to late financial dues.
The EFA has imposed a transfer bans on Zamalek, Ismaily, Ittihad of Alexandria, Al Masry, Entag El-Harby, and El-Dakhleya this January transfer window.
The decision was made against the Whites after former Zamalek players Ahmed Hassan and Arafa El-Sayed filed a complaint against them over their late dues.
The former Anderlecht midfielder played two seasons at Zamalek, scoring 12 goals in 40 appearances, while El-Sayed, who is currently at Wadi Degla, featured in only 9 games for the Whites without scoring.
The 2016 African Champions League runners-up will not be able to register any new players this transfer window until this decision gets canceled.
Zamalek are currently third in the Egyptian Premier League with 34 points, 11 points behind league leaders Al Ahly, but they still have two games in hand against Misr El-Maqassa and Tala’a El-Geish.
