Petrojet appoints Hassan Shehata as new head coach
Hassan Shehata agreed to lead Egyptian Premier League side Petrojet replacing coach Talaat Youssef.
The former Egypt national team coach managed Tala’a El-Gaish for a few months returning to coaching in the league before he submitted his resignation in September last year. the boss went on several managerial stints at Zamalek, Al-Arabi of Qatar, Morocco’s Difaâ El Jadidi and finally Arab Contractors before taking on Tala’a El-Gaish last July.
Petrojet board announced that Alaa Nabil will be leaving Arab Contractors to lead the team replacing Youssef who moved to Libya to coach Al-Ahli Tripoli after terminating his contract. In spite of their previous agreement, negotiations failed with Nabil one day after he started his new role, thus the board decided to start negotiations with the 2008 CAF coach of the Year.
Shehata’s start with Petrojet will be during the team’s training session next week. The Suez-based club is currently in the 7th place in the Egyptian Premier League with 25 points from 16 matches.
