Hector Cuper: Our group is now more complicated
Egypt national team coach Hector Cuper spoke about the team’s match against Mali and how Group D is now more complicated during the press conference that followed the match.
Egypt lost two points as their first Group D match against Mali ended 0-0. Cuper thinks that Egypt’s draw with Mali in addition to Ghana defeating Uganda made the group even harder.
“The pitch was awful, also humidity and temperature badly affect our players’ performance,” said the Argentinian coach. “Plus, now I have a crisis after El-Shennawy was injured during the match. This leaves me with two injured goalkeepers and only one ready to start.”
As for Egypt’s group, Cuper thinks that Egypt’s chances are harder now after the draw. “We have no option but to win our match against Uganda. Even if Ghana defeated Mali the group will still be complicated till the last round.”
