EXCLUSIVE: Union Española turn down Zamalek bid for Carlos Salom
Chilean club Union Española have turned down Zamalek’s latest offer for star striker Carlos Salom.
Salom, 29, has been courted by Cairo giants Zamalek for some weeks with the Chilean club turning down more than one offer for the player.
Zamalek started the bidding process by an initial offer of $200,000 for the player’s services, which was rejected despite Salom having six months left on his contract.
The Whites decides to up their offer to $300,000, which was again rejected with the club president informing Zamalek that they would part ways with their star for $1,000,000.
The Cairo giants were then informed that a $600,000 bid would ensure the transfer of the player.
On the 19th of January, Zamalek decided to send an improved proposal of $600,000 to be paid on two installments, half of it once the player signs and the other half when the season ends which was again rejected by the club.
Despite recent reports that Española have accepted the offer, KingFut can confirm that the Chileans informed Zamalek they will not be taking any bids for the player due to Zamalek’s reluctance to send in a proper offer.
The club president followed by informing Zamalek that they will not be selling the player as their offer is too far from the demanded amount and the Palestine international will be registered in the team’s Copa Libertadores squad.
Salom has been in superb form, scoring 39 goals over the past two and a half seasons, most recently being courted by top club Colo Colo.
