Mohamed Salah’s Roma qualified for the quarter-finals of Coppa Italia with a resounding 4-0 victory over Sampdoria on Thursday.

Despite missing Mohamed Salah for the AFCON, the Giallorossi managed to beat Sampdoria easily 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico, setting up a tie against Cesena in the next round.

Radja Nainggolan opened the scoreline for Roma in the 39th minute, before his Serbian teammate Edin Džeko doubled their lead two minutes after the half-time break.

In the 61st minute, El Shaarawy scored his side’s third goal of the game, and just before the final-whistle Nainggolan scored his second of the game, ending the match 4-0 for Roma.

Roma are set to face Serie B side Cesena in the quarter-finals and will hope to qualify for the semi-finals for the first time since 2014, when they lost to Napoli 5-3 on aggregate.
