OFFICIAL: Al Ahly sign Kilmarnock striker Souleymane Coulibaly
Al Ahly have completed the signing of Kilmarnock FC striker Souleymane Coulibaly after passing medical check-ups.
The former Ivory Coast U17 star has sealed his move to the Cairo giants after arriving in Egypt a few hours ago.
Zamalek were believed to be highly interested in the player, submitting several bids but none were good enough for the Scottish Club to accept.
Souleymane Coulibaly joins Al Ahly on a three-and-a-half year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of $800,000.
Coulibaly signs a two-and-a-half year deal with the club with an option for a third year. Kilmarnock have inserted a sell-on fee as well into his contract.
The player’s representative had arrived in Cairo on Sunday night to finalise the agreement for the player’s transfer.
Coulibaly has scored 11 goals for Kilmarnock in all competitions this season and is the leading goalscorer of the team.
The forward broke onto the scene in the 2011 U17 FIFA World Cup in Mexico scoring a record nine goals in four games as Ivory Coast crashed out of the competition in the round of 16, including a hattrick against Marquinhos’ Brazil and a Poker against Denmark in the group stages.
