Elneny might not play against Morocco due to injury
As confirmed by Hazem El-Hawary, Mohamed Elneny suffered an injury in Egypt training camp that might stop him from playing against Morocco in the 2017 AFCON quarter-final match.
Elneny is injured in the Gastrocnemius muscle. The player is supposed to be currently having a medical session with the national team medical staff which will result in a report indicating whether he will be able to participate in the match or not.
The Arsenal midfielder is one of Hector Cuper’s main squad elements since the current coach started leading Egypt. “I am totally convinced with Mohamed Elneny and I am taking responsibility for the squad selection,” Cuper said earlier supporting the player.
Both Ibrahim Salah and Omar Gaber can replace the 24-year-old, in addition to Abdallah El-Said.
