Demba Ba returns to Besiktas on loan from Shanghai Shenhua
Ba originally joined Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas from Chelsea in 2014 before leaving a year later to join Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua. He scored 18 goals during his previous spell with the Turkish side.
The 31-year-old broke his leg last summer when playing for the Chinese side and is now looking to re-establish himself.
“Demba Ba (has arrived) on a temporary transfer until the date 05/31/2017. No compensation will be paid to him or his club,” Besiktas’ club statement read.
West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has earlier revealed their interest in signing the Senegalese striker but Ba’s injury stood in the way.
