Uganda international Farouk Miya has joined Royal Excel Mouscron on loan until the end of the season from Standard Liège.

The 19-year-old, who scored the Cranes’ only goal in the Africa Cup of Nations against Mali, will join Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet at the Belgian side. The 22-year-old Egyptian is at Mouscron on loan from Anderlecht.

“Our young Ugandan attacking midfielder will be loaned to the Belgian club till the end of the season without a buy-out clause,” Standard Liège announced on their official website.

The attacking midfielder joined Standard Liège on loan from Vipers SC of Uganda in January 2016 before making his move permanent last summer.

Standard Liege sit 9th in the league standings on 33 points, while Royal Mouscron are at the bottom of the table with 18 points.
