Ibrahim Salah

National team and Zamalek midfielder Ibrahim Salah commented on Egypt’s win against Burkina Faso in the semi-final and expressed his optimism for the final match on Sunday in the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

Salah was happy after his team won a physically tough match against Burkina Faso 4-3 on penalties especially that this was the player’s first match in the tournament.

“Burkina Faso is a really good team, they’re stiff too,” the 29-year-old told the press after the match. “Since the very beginning of the tournament, the players’ goal was to win the title.”

The Pharaohs will wait for the winner of the semi-final match between Ghana and Cameroon to know their next opponent. Egypt coach Hector Cuper, who also showed optimism and positivity for the upcoming match, will try to travel to Franceville on Thursday to watch the game.

“We will return to Egypt as heroes again. That’s what all players are determined to achieve,” he concluded.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
