Cuper explains why he did not start with Ramadan Sobhi
Egyptian national team coach Hector Cuper spoke about his decision for not including Stoke City winger Ramadan Sobhi in the final match line up against Cameroon in the 2017 African Cup of Nations
The Pharaohs lost the final match 2-1 to Cameroon extending Cuper’s bad luck with finals as this is the sixth final he loses in his coaching career. TheIndomitable Lions won the title for the first time since 2002.
The Argentinian coach illustrated why he chose not to start the game with Stoke City winger Ramadan Sobhi, especially that the team was missing key players in this match. “Mahmoud Trezeguet played a good match, I didn’t see a reason to substitute him,” he said. “I don’t want to talk about the lineup and players who were on the bench.”
Cuper answered a question asking about future steps and what’s next for the national team by saying: “Let’s wait and see and what happens.”
