Ibrahim Salah eyes nothing but the win against Al Ahly
Salah, who recently renewed his contract with the White Knights, also spoke at the pre-match press conference about the date of the match which will be played on Friday only a few days after the Egyptian national team came back from the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon. The midfielder was in Egypt’s squad and played in the tournament.
“Players from Zamalek and Al Ahly both think that the match was supposed to be scheduled for another day,” he said. “However, our players are ready for the match and are aiming to win the cup.”
The 29-year-old also thinks that being with the national team in the AFCON was actually good preparation for this match.
“We were away from the team for a long time. Being with the national team was a good preparation for the Egyptian Super Cup,” he added. “This also applies to those who were with the military national team.
“Zamalek lost the last two consecutive Egyptian Super Cups against Al Ahly so we’re targeting a win this time,” Salah concluded.
