Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has confirmed the availability of the Egyptian for Stoke’s first team after returning to England with a second place medal with his national team in the AFCON.

The Red and White manager expressed his satisfaction with the return of the 20-year-old Ramadan Sobhi back to his side and added that Ramadan is very much in his thoughts for the next game against Crystal Palace.

With Xherdan Shaqiri on the sidelines for a while and Ibrahim Afellay’s recent return from a long-term injury, Ramadan is likely to feature against Crystal Palace because of his performances in recent matches with the Egyptian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.

“We do have Ramadan back in the building now and he is very much in my thoughts for the match,” Mark Hughes said.

“In terms of match fitness, he is probably in as good a shape as he has been during his time here, after playing for Egypt over the past couple of weeks.

“He is in a good place at the moment and there is no reason why he won’t be involved in some capacity against Crystal Palace,” the 53-year-old concluded.

Ramadan has made 10 appearances for the Potters across all competitions this season, assisting just once against Swansea City in the English Premier League.

Eleventh placed Stoke City are set to host strugglers Crystal Palace in the league at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, February 11.
