Elneny features in Arsenal’s win against Elmohamady’s Hull City
After drawing with Manchester United and winning against Liverpool, Arsenal managed to stop Hull City’s heroics and secured a 2-0 win, to jump temporarily to third place and put pressure on Tottenham and Manchester City.
Arsenal started the game with great character and a positive attitude, despite any speculations surrounding Wenger’s future after the last two defeats against Watford and Chelsea.
The Gunners were in control of the game, pressing highly and producing a lot of chances, but without any efficient outcome in terms of final touch, until Alexis Sanchez scored in the 34th minute converting Gibbs’s deflected shot, to make it 1-0.
The second-half started and Arsenal didn’t stop showing the same positive attitude as they were looking to kill the game, but just like the first-half they lacked the final touch.
The two Egyptians were introduced to the game in the second-half, as Hull’s Ahmed Elmohamady came on in the 65th minute while Mohamed Elneny replaced Theo Walcott in the 69th minute.
That wasn’t it, as Alexis Sanchez managed to score his second goal of the game in the 93rd minute through a penalty kick, which saw Sam Clucas receive a straight red card after blocking Lucas Perez’s header on the line by his arm.
Arsenal will now start preparing for the Champions League’s round of 16 on Wednesday, as they are facing a tough test against Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena.
