Ramadan Sobhi assists as Stoke City down Crystal Palace
The Egyptian Youngster managed to earn his second Premier league start this season, making his first appearance for Stoke City after returning from Gabon following the AFCON 2017.
The first 20 minutes lacked energy and action as both teams tried to maintain position and secure their areas.
33 minutes into the game, Ramadan Sobhi managed to skip past two defenders to find Joe Allen in space, who missed his header from a few yards out.
Both teams failed to create any more dangerous chances until the referee blew the halftime whistle.
At the 67th minute, Sobhi managed to protect the ball from Crystal Palace’s Van Aanholt, before laying it off for Allen who placed the ball past the goalkeeper, marking The Potters’ first goal.
At the 82nd minute, Sobhi came off to a standing ovation as he got replaced by Senegal’s Mame Diouf.
Stoke City managed to defend their lead perfectly, until the referee blew the full-time whistle.
Following the win, Stoke City occupies the 9th league spot with 32 points from 25 matches.
