Mido intervenes to end Shikabala-Mortada Mansour dispute
Zamalek winger Shikabala spoke for the first time after his dispute with the club’s chairman Mortada Mansour after former coach Mido intervened.
A recent conflict happened between the controversial player and Zamalek president Mortada Mansour after Shikabala was not called up by coach Mohamed Helmy for the team’s match against Al Ahly in the Egyptian Super Cup.
Mansour revealed earlier that Shikabala’s relationship with the club has ended and that he has sent him a warrant. “Shikabala’s relationship with Zamalek has ended after what he did. I think the player doesn’t want to help himself so we aren’t going to help him,” said the president regarding Shikabala’s actions.
However, current Wadi Degla coach and ex-Zamalek player Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ intervened and ended the conflict between both sides. “I am fully committed to Zamalek. I won’t give a chance for any trouble to happen in the future,” the former PAOK player explained to the press.
“Wait for a new and different version of me with Zamalek. I promise the best in the next period,” the 30-year-old concluded.
