Joe Allen: Sobhi will be a big player for the club
Stoke City and Wales national team midfielder Joe Allen praised his teammate and former Al Ahly player Ramadan Sobhi after the team’s match against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League.
Allen was pleased that Sobhi helped him score his sixth goal of the season in the 25th fixture of the Premier League as Stoke City won 1-0. The 20-year-old managed to protect the ball and send it to Allan instead of being selfish and try to put it away himself.
“He did all the hard work in all honesty. It was a good ball from him after Marko Arnautovic had played a great ball over the top. It would have been easy for Ramadan to have seen his chance at glory and try to put it away himself but he kept his composure and put it on a plate for me,” Allen said.
“I’m really grateful and on top of setting me up for the goal I thought he was brilliant all day. For the rest of the season and the future he’s going to be a big player for this club,” he added.
The young pharaoh earned his second Premier League start this season, making his first appearance for Stoke City after returning from Gabon following the AFCON 2017.
