Mokhtar Mokhtar quits Ittihad of Alexandria
Mokhtar Mokhtar has resigned as manager of Ittihad of Alexandria ahead of his side’s encounter with Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League.
The 62-year-old has parted ways with the Greens despite beating Arab Contractors 1-0 in the 18th round of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.
Mokhtar confirmed to Nile Sports that he had already decided his future by saying: “I’m going through a difficult time and the club’s circumstances are not helping me out to succeed.
“I would like to thank the club’s board and fans for supporting me,” he added.
Ittihad’s performance has seen a big decline recently, winning only two games from their last ten as well as crashing out from the Egyptian Cup quarter-finals against ENPPI.
The former Al-Masry and Petrojet manager was in charge for 36 matches in all competitions since his appointment, with an overall record of 14 wins, seven draw and 15 losses.
