Omar Gaber – Basel (Switzerland)

Omar Gaber was out of the squad as FC Basel beat FC Thun 2-0. The Swiss league leaders scored both of their goals in the second half, with the first one coming after 79th minute through an own goal by Nicolas Schindelholz. Seydou Doumbia added the second in the 92nd minute. The result leaves Basel in first place with 53 points from 20 games. They will play next against Lausanne on Feb. 19.

Trezeguet – Royal Excel Mouscron (Belgium)

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet played 78 minutes in Royal Mouscron’s 2-1 defeat against Oostende in round 26 of the Belgian Pro League. Royal Mouscron took the lead in the 23rd minute through Deivydas Matulevicius but Oostende managed to equalise around 10 minutes later.

Mouscron’s hopes of earning at least a point, in their fight against relegation, were dashed late in the match as David Rozehnal scored an 89th-minute winner for Oostende. Royal Mouscron now sit at the bottom of the table on 18 points ahead of their match against Waasland-Beveren on Feb. 18.

Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka’ – SC Braga (Portugal)

Egypt’s Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka’ was excluded from Braga’s squad due to injury as his side drew 1-1 with Boavista in the 21st fixture of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Braga opened the scoring just nine minutes into the game, as Nikola Stojiljkovic converted the ball past Boavista’s goalkeeper. At the 39th minute, Boavista’s Fabio Espinho managed to equalise from the spot. Braga now occupy the fourth league spot on 38 points from 21 games and are set to face league leaders Benfica on Feb. 19.

Karim Hafez – RC Lens (France)

Egypt international left back Karim Hafez was excluded from the squad as RC Lens sealed a 3-1 victory over Clermont Foot in the 25th round of Ligue 2. The visitors took the lead after 50 minutes through Jonathan Iglesias, however Kevin Fortune equalised for the hosts 12 minutes later. Abdellah Zoubir completed RC Lens comeback in the 71st minute before Mattias Autret secured the three points for Lens two minutes from time.

The victory sends RC Lens back to the third position with 40 points, one away from second-placed Amiens and five away from leaders Brest.

Sam Morsy – Wigan Athletic (England)

Egypt’s Sam Morsy played the full 90 minutes as Wigan beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 in the 32nd round of the Championship. Wigan managed to clinch the three points late in the game as the team’s defender Jake Buxton placed the ball past the Wolves’ goalkeeper just two minutes before the final whistle. Morsy was booked in the dying minutes of the game. Wigan now occupy the 22nd league spot with 29 points from 31 games and are set to face Preston North End on Feb. 18.
