Title holders Zamalek advanced to the next round of Egypt Cup after claiming an easy 2-0 win over lower-tier side Olympic in round of 32 on Friday.

Second-half goals from Bassem Morsi and Mahmoud Abdel-Aati ‘Dunga’ helped Zamalek ease past their Alexandrian opponents at Petrosport Stadium.

The first half saw Zamalek in control for the most part with Ahmed Gaafar having a few good chances. The White Castle’s keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy also made a great save on an Olympic’s striker header after 12 minutes.

Despite a confident display in the first half, the Alexandrian side went down 1-0 six minutes after the break. Zamalek striker Bassem Morsy put his side in front as he headed home Ahmed Refaat’s cross.

Nine minutes from time, Dunga scored a screamer from outside of the box, to record his first goal with Zamalek.

The White Knights will face Haras El-Hodood in round of 16, as they attempt to secure their fifth consecutive Egypt Cup title.

The Super Cup champions will return to league play on Feb. 20 when they face Tala’a El-Gaish.
