League leaders Al Ahly returned to winning ways after beating Arab Contractors 2-0 in the 19th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The first-half saw chances mostly fall to Ahly with Saad Samir having the most dangerous one in the 45th minute, but his shot went wide.

Arab Contractors’ players also forced Sherif Ekramy into making a couple good saves, ending the first-half 0-0.

However, with the beginning of the second half, Hossam El-Badary replaced Momen Zakaria for Saleh Gomaa and later on Amr Gamal for Mido Gaber.

In the 74th-minute, veteran striker Emad Meteb was introduced and it didn’t take him much time to score as after only one minute, he scored Ahly’s first goal of the game.

Meteb wasn’t the only substitute to score as Momen Zakaria doubled the lead five minutes later after an error from Contractors’ defenders, to end the game 2-0 to the Red Devils.

The result leaves Ahly in first place with 49 points from 19 games and their next game will be against Wadi Degla on February 23rd, while Contractors sit 10th with 24 points and will face Entag El-Harby two days later.
