Al Masry reached the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup round of 32 as they beat Nigerian side Ifeanyi Ubah 3-0 on penalties after their two-legged tie ended 1-1 on aggregate.

The Port Said-based side had lost 1-0 away after conceding a late goal in the first leg of the preliminary round before winning 1-0 at home on Sunday.

Ahmed Shoukry scored the winner for the Egyptian side midway through the first half as he converted from the spot. Both sides failed to add more goals as the two-legged preliminary round tie ended 1-1 on aggregate, forcing the tie into a penalty shoot-out.

Keeper Ahmed Busca penalty heroics secured the Green Eagles a spot in the next round as he saved two penalties, while the Ifeanyi Ubah player missed the third penalty. Meanwhile, Osama Azab, Saeed Mourad and Ahmed Shourky scored for Al Masry.
