Mohamed Elneny’s Arsenal managed to progress to the next round of the FA Cup, after the club’s 2-0 win over Sutton United away from home.

Mohamed Elneny was subbed off in the 45th minute, as he watched his side book a spot in the next round after winning 2-0 in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Arsenal starting XI vs. Sutton: Ospina, Gabriel, Mustafi, Holding, Monreal, Elneny, Xhaka, Lucas, Iwobi, Reine-Adélaïde, Walcott.

Sutton United starting XI: Worner, Amankwaah, Downer, Collins, Beckwith, Deacon, Bailey, Eastmond, May, Gomis, Biamou.

Arsenal didn’t manage to get into the game quickly, as the artificial grass pitch and the Sutton United players were huge factors in interfering with Arsenal’s style of play.

However, Lucas Perez managed to convert Granit Xhaka’s assist for the Gunners and break the deadlock in the 26th minute.

The game’s slow tempo continued and lacked dangerous, well-played chances from the Gunners, as they failed to produce another goal.

Mohamed Elneny was replaced by Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain before the kick-off of the second half, as the Egyptian seemed to have sustain an injury in the first half.

The visitors produced a better performance in the second half as Arsenal were pressing  Sutton United from the start. They wanted to secure the game and it paid off in the 55th minute as Theo Walcott scored the second goal to kill the game.

Arsenal will now host Lincoln City, who eliminated Burnley, in the quarter finals on March 11 in hopes to qualify to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
